FOOD SAFETY

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

July 29

Montana Mike’s

Location: 1945 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — dish machine needs to reach 180 degrees, corrected; NC — ice scoop needs to be stored in clean location, corrected.

July 30

Dragon Palace

Location: 413 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R2 — ice scoop container has debris, to be corrected by Aug. 13; C/R2 — some utensils/food contact surfaces of equipment have food debris stored with utensils, corrected; NC/R5 — outsides of squeeze bottle holding pepper, storage container holding flour, shelf holding dishes, container holding rice and soft drink nozzles have debris, to be corrected by Aug. 13; C — common hand towel being used in area by dish machine, corrected; NC — if ware-washing sink is used in food prep, it needs to be cleaned; do not cool lo mein noodles in dish washing area, corrected; NC — no hand soap in back prep area, corrected; C/R2 — white rice being held at 80 to 90 degrees, corrected.

Aug. 6

Speedway

Location: 2668 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — expired in-house made deli and wrap sandwiches, corrected/discarded; C — dish machine sanitizing solution concentration is insufficient, corrected; NC — clean ice chute of drink dispenser to remove mold-like substance, clean interiors of front cooler and freezer, to be corrected by Sept. 15.

Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant

Location: 1550 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R2 — dish machine is not dispensing sanitizer, corrected; NC/R2 — scoop for chips is not stored properly, corrected; NC/R2 — floors in kitchen in corner and under equipment have debris, light in dishwashing area is not working properly, table in food prep area has debris on bottom shelf, legs of tables and equipment have build-up, to be corrected by Aug. 13.

Papa Murphy’s Take-N-Bake Pizza

Location: 188 E. New Road, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — need to wash hands before putting on gloves, corrected.
