Restaurant Inspections
The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

CVS Pharmacy
Location: 5981 W. Broadway, McCordsville
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: C — outdated baby formula found, corrected.

Sugar Creek Brickhouse
Location: 5821 U.S. 40 West, Greenfield
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: C — establishment needs to have employment health policy, chicken in hot holding is below 135 degrees, employee observed touching raw hamburger then about to touch ready-to-eat food, corrected.

Strough’s Supermarket
Location: 624 N. Madison St., Fortville

Violations found: C — rotisserie chicken is being held at 115–120 degrees (should be at 135 degrees or above), corn and some chicken is not being held at temp in hot holding case, food debris is present on slicer, slicer must be cleaned every four hours during use, sanitizer in meat cutting room sink and deli sink is not strong enough, outdated baby formula, corrected; NC — walk-in cooler floor/shelving has grime/debris, to be corrected by Jan. 13; NC — need to provide food thermometer, to be corrected by Jan. 7.
