GREENFIELD
84, passed away December 17, 2020. She was born January 27, 1936 to the late George and Sylvia McCartney. Jean was a 1954 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Butler University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority; and her Master’s Degree from Indiana University. Jean married Wayne F. Spinks, June 7, 1959 and was employed as a reading teacher for IPS School #114 for over 20 years. Jean was an active member of Irvington United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

An in person visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Irvington United Methodist Church, 30 N. Audubon Rd., Indianapolis.
Our circle of love continues on. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Wayne F. Spinks; children, Kathy S. Steinburg (Rich), Connie S. Purcell (John) and David A. Spinks (Lorie); grandchildren, Sam Steinburg (Karen), Justin Purcell (Laura), Jareth Purcell (Catherine), Chuck Crabtree, Zoey Crabtree (Danny), Hannah Werner (Grant) and Jacob Purcell; and great-grandchildren, Chaucer, Bowie, Coraline and Soren. A sister, Kathryn Ridlen, preceded her in death.
