ANDERSON
Billie L. (Tolbert) Simmons, of Anderson, passed away at her home on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the age of 77, after a three-year battle with cancer.
She married Alan Simmons in September 1992. She is survived by Alan, as well as her three children, Lance (Jeannie) Reger, Lynette Butler, and Lana (Scott) Shreves; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Grace and Ryan Butler, Katelyn and Skylar Shreves; two step-grandchildren, Luke (Hannah) Smith and Lauren Smith; and her sister, Bonnie Whitehead.
She was a beloved family member to Alan’s children, Craig (Wendy) Simmons and Carla (Scott) Whiteman and numerous step-grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Tolbert and her sisters, Donna Mesalam and Linda Judd.
She graduated in 1965 from Pendleton High School and retired from KeyBank (formerly Citizens bank/Society Bank) in 2015, after 34 years of service. She lived in the Anderson/Pendleton area throughout her life.
Billie was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to this charity.
Services were held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Loose Funeral Homes &Crematory, Anderson, IN.
Billie and her family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Fisher and the staff of the MD Anderson Cancer Center for their kindness, grace and outstanding care during her illness.
