Food Safety

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Oct. 11

Hancock County Jail — Trinity Services Group

Location: 123 E. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Taco Bell

Location: 1017 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Leo’s Market and Eatery

Location: 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — milk and Greek yogurt for smoothies were above 41 degrees and did not have time marking for when to discard, corrected/discarded.

Mozzi’s Pizza

Location: 1282 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — shredded cheese on pizza prep table too warm at 60 degrees, corrected; NC — need protective shielding replaced at light fixture in kitchen, to be corrected by Dec. 15.

Oct. 15

Pizza King

Location: 12110 E. Washington St., Cumberland

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — need to date-mark meats used on salads (ham and salami) for seven days after opening package, to be corrected by Oct. 16; NC — need to provide test strips for dish machine, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC/R — must allow glasses to air dry before stacking, to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Y-Not Pizza

Location: 45 E. Main St., New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — repair/replace lighting in kitchen where lights are not working, to be corrected by Jan. 1; NC/R — replace thermometer in walk-in cooler, to be corrected by Jan. 1.
