The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

July 2

Round the Corner Grill

Location: 19 S. Bittner Road, New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R2 – improper thawing observed, corrected; C – must wash hands before handling ready-to-eat food, corrected/discarded; C/R3 – dish machine not sanitizing properly, corrected; C – hand washing sink is for hand washing only, do not wash produce in sink, must label all chemical bottles, cooler holding lunchmeat, sandwich toppings at 48 degrees (must be at 41 degrees or lower), corrected; C/R2 – slicer has food debris, to be corrected by July 2; NC/R2 – clean door handles, gaskets, interiors of equipment to remove debris, repair wall behind ice bin in bar area, repair ceiling where cracks have developed, to be corrected by Sept. 1; NC – do not store ice scoop with cu lid sleeve, corrected; NC – need sanitizing test strips for dish machine, to be corrected by July 5; NC/R3 – clean floors under grill, cook top, freezers, etc. to remove debris/grime build-up/clean storage racks to remove debris/build-up, to be corrected by Sept. 1; C/R2 – employees must be knowledgeable of employee health policy, corrected.

Woodland Terrace

Location: 4400 Terrace Drive, New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R2 – prep cooler with chicken, fish, etc. is not keeping food cold enough, corrected/discarded.

Getgo

Location: 6073 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – must wash hands before putting on gloves and changing tasks, corrected/training needed; C – employee health policy not available, corrected.

Subway

Location: 5040 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – knives and utensils must be cleaned and sanitized every four hours, corrected.

County Inn and Suites

Location: 2070 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – need to provide mounted hand soap dispenser at hand sink, need to provide thin-tipped food thermometer for thin sausage patties, to be corrected by Aug. 1; C – dish machine drain cannot be directory connected to sewage system, to be corrected by Aug. 1; C – yogurt in case is at 50 degrees (needs to be held at 41 degrees or below), corrected.
