GREENFIELD
Richard L. Cooper, age 83, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 30, 1940 to Carl Cooper and Elise (Kimble, Cooper) Kleiman. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1958 and then continued his education at Ball State and Syracuse Universities. He proudly served in the United States Airforce from 1963 to 1967.
He worked for the Army Finance Center at Ft. Harrison as a Computer Programmer until his retirement. Richard greatly enjoyed woodworking, golfing and stamp collecting. He also loved the history of his family and was an avid genealogist.
He is survived by his son, Adam Cooper of Greenfield; daughter, Kirsten Brewer of Mt. Summit; three grandsons; one granddaughter; sister, Nancy Watkins of Greenfield; one niece; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
