GREENFIELD
Constance M. (Kleindorfer) Reder, 73 of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born the daughter of Donald &Barbara (Buckner) Kleindorfer on December 30, 1950, in Indianapolis. Connie married the love of her life, Michael Reder on June 15, 1974, in Indianapolis.
Connie graduated with the Class of 1969 from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, and later attended Indiana University – Bloomington, where she excelled academically, graduating Magna Cum Laude with her master’s degree in Elementary Education in 1973. For nearly 40 years, Connie shaped the minds and hearts of young learners as a 5th-grade teacher at Harris Elementary School in Greenfield. Her passion for education extended beyond the curriculum; she was deeply invested in the lives of each child who entered her classroom. Connie’s exceptional dedication to her students was recognized not once, but twice, as she was honored with the Greenfield-Central School’s Educator of the Year award. Connie was a member of Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield, and she very much enjoyed the years where she was able to sing in the choir. Above all, Connie cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was their biggest supporter and enjoyed celebrating their achievements while always encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Mike Reder of Greenfield; son, Curt Reder of Greenfield; daughter, Anne (Russell) Wiley of Indianapolis; brother, Mark (Susan) Kleindorfer of Troy, Illinois; sister, Nancy (Chris) Snyder of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Don (Debb) Erwin; nephew, Chad Kleindorfer; niece, Angela (Neal Passamaneck) Erwin; nephews, Beau (Jamie) Ridings; Alex (Meredith) Erwin; and Jason (Ashley) Kleindorfer; niece, Brittany (Tyler) Seal; three granddaughters, Maya, Clara, and Nora Wiley; and great-nephews, Brantley &Wendell. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Susie Erwin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00am at the mortuary. Rev. Steve McPeek will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
