GREENFIELD
Paul David Reed, 86 of Greenfield, IN; passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born the son of George and Zannie Reed on April 1, 1937, in Hardin County, Kentucky. Paul married the love of his life, Barbara (Arnold) Reed on November 23, 1991, in Indianapolis.
Paul spent 42 of his working years as a Sheet Metal Foreman with the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local #20 in Indianapolis until his retirement in 1999. Paul was a strong man of faith, and attended Shiloh Christian Church in Greenfield where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. Throughout his life, he enjoyed studying God’s word from the Bible, woodworking, and fishing. Above anything, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids who will miss him dearly.
Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara Reed of Greenfield; children, Byron (Karen) Reed of Lafayette; James Reed of West Lafayette; and Diane Reed of Lafayette; brothers, Thomas Reed of Macon, GA; Charles Reed of Byron, GA; and Walter (Sue) Reed of Cheyenne, WY; sisters, Audrey Thomas of Elizabethtown, KY; and Jane Brewer of Bugg Hollow, TN; four grandchildren, Christa (Matthew) Blackburn; Carrie (Brice) Hayes; Alex Reed; and Zach (Brooke) Reed; four great-grandchildren, Nora Hayes; Brantley Reed; Lena Blackburn; Weston Hayes and another great-grandson on the way. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Baker; and brother, Floyd Reed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
