Charles “Charlie” Leon Crabtree, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was a resident of Greenfield. He was born Friday June 3, 1949 to Charles R. and Leta S. (Pierce) Crabtree. He married his childhood sweetheart, Angela Faye Rose on September 27, 1969 in Spiceland, IN. Survivors include his wife Angela Faye Crabtree; two sons Christopher Lee (Melanie) Crabtree and Charles Mason (Sarah) Crabtree; grandchildren Hunter Crabtree, Becky Crabtree, Raven Brown, Mat Brown, Kaleb (Jessica) Jones, Nicholas (Drue) Jones; great granddaughters, Livy and Maddie Jones; brother, Larry (Connie) Crabtree; and several brother &sister in-laws and many nephews and nieces. Charlie graduated from Spiceland High School. He attended BSU and IBC colleges, graduating with an accounting degree. He was employed by Draper Shade and Screen, Chrysler Corporation, and retired from General Motors (Allison Division) in 2009. He loved being with his family, especially the backyard campouts. Being a farm boy at heart, he always missed the small family farm they once owned. He enjoyed cruising, dancing, live theater, music, art, and being Flatfoot T. Clown. Charlie was a member of Prather Masonic Lodge #717, F. &A.M., Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Prather York Rite, and Murat Shrine. He served as Potentate of Murat Shrine in 2012. He was active in many clubs and units including Murat Clowns (President 2001), Corvette Club, Reception, Directors Staff, Legion of Honor, Logansport, White County Shrine Club, Henry County Shrine Club, Hancock County Srine Club, Madison County , Kowad ‘Al Sabikin, Sword of Bunker Hill, Tall Cedars, Royal Order of Scotland, Life member of the Kachina club and served as Chairman on multiple committees. He was crowned with the honorary 33? in Washington D.C. (August 2013) and served as President of the Indianapolis 33? Association (2022). Charlie served eight years on the Board of Governors Shriners Hospital Cincinnati, retiring with Emeritus status, and voting representative to International Shriners Hospital earning Emeritus status. He was awarded the Indiana Meritorious Service Medal, presented by Governor Mitch Daniels (2012). Visitation hours will take place from 2-5PM, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. A Masonic funeral followed by traditional services will take place at 5PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Murat Shrine, 510 N.
