Weed wrangle, nature walk scheduled

GREENFIELD – Learn about wildflowers and help a local park eliminate an invasive species at an upcoming event.

An Ephemeral Walk and Weed Wrangle is scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. April 29 at Thornwood Nature Preserve, 1597 S. Morristown Pike, Greenfield. The event, hosted by the local chapter of Weed Wrangle Indiana, will include a wildflower identification walk and eliminating the invasive garlic mustard. Bring gloves and dress for the weather. Stress management support available

Dining events to benefit local animal shelter

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Humane Society will benefit from two upcoming donation events at restaurants.

A portion of sales at Qdoba from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 goes to the society’s shelter. The QR code at facebook.com/hancockhumane is required. Qdoba is located at 2037 N. State St., Greenfield.

A donation event will also be at Culver’s in Greenfield from 5-8 p.m. May 22. No flier is required; a portion of dine-in, drive through or carry out proceeds benefit the shelter. Culver’s is located at 1846 N. State St., Greenfield.

McCordsville to launch new event

MCCORDSVILLE – Vendors and sponsors are wanted for McCordsville’s summer community event, Party in the Park.

The event will be Aug. 19 in Town Hall Park. Applications are available to all businesses, arts and crafts, farmers and organizations and are $40 to reserve vendor space. Sponsorships start at $150. This will be the first year for the event, which will include free activities like balloon twisting, face painting, music, an inflatable obstacle course, ax throwing, food vendors and more.
