The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

Jan. 13

Suzy’s Pizza

179 S. Main St., Wilkinson

Violation found: NC – provide test strips for chlorine-based sanitizer, to be corrected by Jan. 20.

Sky Pizzeria

No violations found.

Dairy Queen

801 W. Main St., Greenfield

Violations found: NC – need to provide test strips for sanitizer, to be corrected by Jan. 20; NC, R – wood support for hand sink still in place, material used for support needs to be smooth, cleanable and non-absorbent, to be corrected by Feb. 17.

Jan. 18

Los Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant

31 E. Main St., Greenfield

Violations found: C – employee touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands, corrected; NC – wall by flat top grill in disrepair, to be corrected by Febv. 18; C – some knives on magnetic strip considered clean have food debris, corrected; NC – need to provide soap at hand sink in bar area, corrected.

Violations found: C – must have employee that has food manager certification, to be corrected by March 1; NC – need to renew food permit, to be corrected by Jan. 20.

Jan. 19

Violations found: NC – hood in kitchen is dripping, to be corrected by Jan. 23; NC, R – some walls still have damage, to be corrected by March 1; NC – cold water at hand sink not working, to be corrected by Jan. 23; NC – no soap at hand sink in bar area, corrected; NC – no paper towels at hand sink in bar area, corrected; C – dish machine in bar area not dispensing sanitizer, do not use until repaired.
