COAD dine to donate scheduled

HANCOCK COUNTY – Dining at Lincoln Square Pancake House this Friday, Oct. 21 will help a local organization prepare for local disasters or weather events.

The Hancock County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) will have a fundraiser at both locations of Lincoln Square Pancake House from 7-10 a.m. Friday. The restaurants are open at 118 W. Main St., Greenfield, and 901 E. Broadway St., Fortville.

Writers Helping Writers to meet

GREENFIELD – Join a community of writers who gather for inspiration and support in a monthly meeting of Writers Helping Writers.

The group will gather at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Grace Rea Study Room of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. People who attend the meeting, whether they are published or not, discuss their work and give each other mutual encouragement. Bring up to 10 printed pages of work to read aloud to the group and make six copies for everyone to share. First-time visitors are welcome to sit in and observe. Community drug toss Oct. 22

GREENFIELD – A community drug toss is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 22 at two local banks.

Drop off unused or expired medication for safe disposal at Greenfield Banking Company locations at 1920 N. State St., Greenfield; or 111 W. Broadway St., Fortville.
