New Palestine High School athletic director Al Cooper was named the Charles Maas Distinguished Service Award winner by the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association for District 4.

The school announced the honor for its AD on social media accounts Wednesday.

The award goes to an administrator who has made significant contributions to interscholastic athletics on both the local and state levels.

It’s not the first time Cooper has been recognized by the association. In 2017, the IIAAA named Cooper the District 4 Athletic Director of the Year.
