Larry Vincent Todd

HANCOCK COUNTY — An Indianapolis man originally accused of a Level 4 felony sex crime with a minor had his plea deal he entered into accepted in Hancock County Circuit Court last week.

Larry Vincent Todd, 32, 5000 block of Dustin Drive, admitted guilt, but to a lesser Level 5 felony count of sexual misconduct with a minor. The plea agreement called for a six-year term and was accepted by Judge Scott Sirk Thursday, Aug. 11.

Todd was given 93 days credit for time already served and four years of the six-year term are to be suspended to probation. The suspended portion shall be served on Sex Offender Specific probation with the first two years on home detention as a condition of the probation. The defendant is ordered to comply with all terms and conditions the court states.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Todd was accused of touching a juvenile inappropriately in March of 2020 during a birthday party sleepover. According to the affidavit, the incident happened in a home on North Noble Street, where a 13-year-old girl said a man there molested her.

The girl, who was spending the night after attending a friend’s birthday party, told detectives from the Greenfield Police Department she and Todd were alone in an entertainment room listening to music while others in the home had gone to bed. She told detectives she was sitting in a chair when Todd approached her and touched her inappropriately despite her pleas for him to stop.

Todd only stopped touching the girl when another juvenile came into the room, the affidavit said. When she woke up the next morning, the victim called her boyfriend and told him what happened. She also told her friend, who told the owner of the home what happened.

Todd is currently listed as an inmate in the Hancock County Jail.
