Death pushes county COVID-19 toll to 210

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county reported a new COVID-19 death, raising its total to 210.

The person who died, on Jan. 10, was a man in his 70s, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

Hancock County also added 279 new COVID-19 cases from Jan. 10 to 11.

The county’s COVID-19 advisory level from the state remains red, the most severe. All but 11 of Indiana’s counties are now red, the rest being orange — the second-most-severe level.

Indiana added 125 new COVID-19 deaths dating between Sept. 30, 2021 and Jan. 11, 2022, raising its total to 19,319. The state also added nearly 15,100 new cases dating between Nov. 17, 2020 and Jan. 11, 2022.
