Here’s a look at what’s coming up at local libraries in Hancock County.

Fortville holiday party planned

FORTVILLE — A Holly Jolly Holiday Party is planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the Fortville Community Center, 400 W. Church St., Fortville. Hosted by the Fortville-Vernon Township public Library and the Fortville Parks Department, the free event will feature games, crafts, a visit from a live reindeer and Santa.

Family holiday events planned

GREENFIELD — Children and families can pet a live reindeer, make crafts, celebrate a Grinch Christmas and more in events at the Hancock County Public Library’s Greenfield a nd Sugar Creek locations.

Jingle John will bring a reindeer for an outdoors meet-and-greet Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the main branch in Greenfield, and Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the Sugar Creek branch. Sign up for a time slot at hcplibrary.org by clicking on the Events tab.

Families can enjoy treats, holiday activities and watch the original “Grinch” movie at the Sugar Creek branch Dec. Dec. 14. Come in pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket; sign up on the website. The site also features dates for several craft options for children and teens; some make-and-take, others are in-person.

Hallmark movie night coming up

GREENFIELD — Adults are invited to bring friends and sisters for some stress-free holiday fun with a special after-hours showing of a Hallmark movie “Christmas with Holly.” The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Popcorn and a hot cocoa bar will be on site, and people are encouraged to wear comfy socks and warm pajamas. Register at hcplibrary.org.
