County adds COVID-19 death, raising total to 185

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county reported a new COVID-19 death this week, raising its total to 185.

The recent fatality was a man in his 70s who died on Nov. 17, according to information from the Indiana Department of Health.

Daily COVID-19 case counts remain steady for the county, with a seven-day moving average of 44 as of Tuesday. Indiana’s seven-day moving average was nearly 3,000. The state also added 117 new novel coronavirus deaths to its dashboard Tuesday, spanning form Nov. 6 to 29, bringing its total to nearly 17,000.

Nearly 45,000 Hancock County residents are fully vaccinated from COVID-19, meaning they’ve received two doses in a two-dose series or one dose of the single-dose vaccine. Almost 11,000 county residents have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster.

Statewide, more than 3.4 million are fully vaccinated, and more than 805,000 have received a booster, according to the health department data.
