Restaurant inspections

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

July 1

Violation found: NC — no soap at hand sink; corrected.

Violation found: C — dishes in hand sink; corrected.

Type of inspection: routine

Violations found: C — meats need to be date-marked from the time package is opened; corrected. C — pests observed in establishment; submit plan to health department for cleaning treatment and repair; to be corrected by July 7. C — debris on equipment such as pizza oven, freezer, shelving; to be corrected by July 8. C — spatulas have melted areas on them; corrected. NC — debris, grime build-up on floors under equipment; to be corrected by July 9.

Bonnie & Clyde’s Restaurant

Location: 7242 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine

Type of inspection: routine

Violations found: C — employee observed touching handle of basket of fryer with gloved hands that were used to bread raw chicken, then took gloves off and touched with bare hands, then put on clean gloves without washing hands; corrected. NC — some mold, debris on wall and floor in dish machine area; to be corrected by Aug. 1. NC — ice build-up in walk-in freezer; to be corrected by Aug. 1.
