GREENFIELD
Penny A. (Shore) Smith, age 73, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Methodist Hospital. She was born in Greenfield on February 26, 1948 to Lloyl Denny and Dora Elizabeth (Kemmick) Shore. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1966. She married Steve Smith on June 1, 1968 in Greenfield.
Penny worked as a legal secretary at Williams, Cone, & Billings in Greenfield for 32 years. She enjoyed cooking, painting, gardening, and trading in the stock market. She loved her family and grandchildren and travelled with them frequently.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Smith of Greenfield; son, Adam Smith (Danielle) of Brownsburg; daughter, Lori Smith of Greenfield; brother, Richard Shore of Greenfield; sisters, Vickie Crawford of Indianapolis, and Pam Kerkhof of Greenfield; grandchildren, Bryce Phenis, Auston Phenis, Conner Phenis and Alaina Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents Denny and Elizabeth; and sister, Judy Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks when inside our building and please practice social distancing.
