GREENFIELD — A rumor circulating on social media about a Chick-fil-A coming to Greenfield is not true, the fast food chain confirmed.

A Facebook page created Monday, March 29 claiming to be associated with the company announced a location was coming to 1882 N. State St. in Greenfield.

The chain’s corporate office contradicted the post in an email to the Daily Reporter.

“We are constantly evaluating potential new locations for expansion and Greenfield represents a tremendous opportunity for us to serve our customers great food with exceptional care,” Chick-fil-A, Inc. said. “At this time however, we cannot confirm any prospective locations.”

The undeveloped land at 1882 N. State St. is owned by Hancock Regional Hospital, which said there are no plans for a Chick-fil-A there. The hospital is letting a contractor use the site as a lay-down area for the work occurring on State Street.

The Greenfield Planning Department said there have yet to be any plans or formal filings submitted to the city for a Chick-fil-A.
