The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Nov. 18

Tim’s Bakery

Location: P.O. Box 1, McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — exterior of containers and lids and wheel bases, racks, rack storage for utensils need to be clean to sight and touch, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen

Location: 1981 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — must use soap when washing hands, employee eating food in prep/cooking area, corrected; C/R2 — raw chicken batter on exterior/interior of walk-in doors, utensils, times, shakers, tongs, etc. must be cleaned every four hours, corrected; NC — bun boxes must be stored at least 6 feet off of floor to prevent contamination, to be corrected by Nov. 18; NC/R3 — all equipment/utensils must be allowed to air dry, corrected; NC — floor drain stopped up under fryer, service called; NC — must have paper towels available, corrected; NC/R2 — clean floors throughout kitchen, under counters, equipment, shelving, walk-ins, etc., clean rack above breading area, exterior of containers storing rice, flour, clean rack with pans in walk-in cooler, clean ice machine door, doors of equipment, interiors of equipment to remove debris/build-up, to be corrected by Feb. 2.

Nov. 20

Quality Inn and Suites

Location: 2270 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R3 — need to wrap apples or provide tongs for apples for customer self-service at front desk, corrected; NC — dripping faucet at three-compartment sink, to be corrected by March 1; NC/R2 — need to have paper towels available at hand sink in kitchen, to be corrected by Nov. 20.

Nov. 25

Hardee’s

Location: 1881 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — do not leave sausage on counter to cool, corrected; NC — side door near beverage area has gap, replace/repair door sweep, to be corrected by Feb. 1; NC/R4 — clean floor under equipment and coving throughout kitchen to remove debris/grease/build-up, to be corrected by March 1.

Location: 117 Apple St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Dragon Palace

Location: 413 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R — clean floor under wok table and in drain area and outside of trash can, to be corrected by Feb. 1.
