CHARLOTTESVILLE
Dennis Richard Basicker, 76, from Charlottesville passed away at Century Villa Health Care Center November 13, 2019. Dennis was born September 26, 1943 to the late Owen Donald and Fern (Neeley) Basicker.
Dennis attended Knightstown High School and after high school served in the United States Army as well as the Indiana National Guard. On September 26, 1968 Dennis married Mary Ann Jones. She was the love of his life for 49 years until her death on November 14, 2016.
In 2001 Dennis retired from the Chrysler Corporation where he was an Inspector for 38 years.
Dennis was a Master Mason with the Masonic Golden Rule Lodge #16 in Knightstown and a retired member of the Charlottesville Volunteer Fire Department.
Dennis is survived by two sons, Aaron (Jenny) Basicker of Greentown, and Ben (Gretchen) Basicker, of Knightstown; grandchildren, Kyle Basicker of Charlottesville, Kaylee Basicker of Greenfield and Heather (Trevin) Vanderbur of Kokomo; also surviving are his brother-in-law, John (Janet) Jones of Charlottesville, Steve Jones of Knightstown and sister-in-law, Carrie (Jones) Jeffers of Plainfield.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mike Neeley and Melvin Basicker.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Lenville Gross officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 18 in McCray Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Knightstown American Legion Post #152 and an active duty contingent of the US Army.
