GREENFIELD

Paul C. Enyart, Jr., age 86, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in Bolivia, South America on March 19, 1933 to Paul C. and Mary Huldah (Barnard) Enyart, Sr.

He graduated from Arlington High School in 1951 and obtained his Bachelor of Religious Education Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University (formerly Marion College) in Marion, IN in 1956. Paul married Winifred “Winnie” Ann (Crim) on September 3, 1955, in Silver Lake, IN.

He was a chaplain, minister, and missionary his entire life, having served as a minister in Fishers, IN, Marion, IN, Spencerville, OH, Montebello, CA, and Greenfield. He served as a missionary in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Paul was a chaplain at Hancock Regional Hospital for many years. He was a member of Little Blue River Friends Church. Paul served in various leadership roles in Indiana Yearly Meeting, Friends United Meeting in Richmond, IN, and the Greenfield Ministerial Association. He served on the United Way Board in Greenfield and was on the founding board of Hope House.

Paul is survived by his wife, Winifred “Winnie” Enyart of Greenfield; son, Stephen P. (Lorna) Enyart of Westfield; daughters, Debra K. McCord and Cheryl A. Garmon both of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, Pamela (Roy) Baker, Nicole, Michael and Timothy Enyart, Allison (Dylan) Stafford, Connor and Lindsey McCord, Stephanie and Emily Garmon; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Adam, and Leenah Baker, and Griffin Thompson; and siblings, Rachel Edwards Peters of Ridgeville, IN, Joseph Enyart of Westfield, John (Elizabeth) Enyart of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Ruth (Michael) Williams of Seale, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Enyart; son, David A. Enyart; and brother, James Enyart.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenfield Friends Church, 323 West Park Avenue, Greenfield, IN 46140. Reverend Doug Shoemaker and Chaplain Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Little Blue River Friends Church Cemetery in Rush County.
