GREENFIELD — The two highways running through Greenfield will be closed for the Riley Festival, meaning everyone will have to use the detours if they are passing through the center of the city. Here’s a breakdown of how to navigate the festival area at State Road 9 and U.S. 40.

Generally, the detour routes are Tague Street on the south, Franklin Street on the west, McKenzie Road on the north and Apple Street on the east.

Northbound traffic:

If you’re on State Street traveling from south of downtown Greenfield, turn left, heading west on Tague Street. From there, turn right, heading north on Franklin Street and then take McKenzie Road east until you reach State Street, where you can continue north.

Eastbound traffic:

If you’re on State Street traveling from south of Greenfield, turn left, heading west on Tague Street. From there turn left to head west to Franklin Street. On Franklin, go north to McKenzie road, and take McKenzie to Apple Street, where you can turn south and head to U.S. 40, where you can head back east.

Southbound traffic:

If you are on State Street on the north side of Greenfield, head south on State Street, then turn right to go west on McKenzie Road. Take McKenzie to Franklin Street, where you can go left to head south and cross U.S. 40 before turning left and heading east on Davis Road, which will lead you back to State Street south of downtown.

Westbound traffic:

If you’re coming from the north, take State Street south to McKenzie Road, turn right and head west to Franklin Street. Turn left on Franklin Street, heading south until you reach U.S. 40, where you can go west.

If you’re traveling from the south, take State Street north to Tague Street, where you’ll turn left, driving west to Franklin Street. Turn right on Franklin, driving north until you hit U.S. 40, where you can head west.
