CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Town Council has approved an increase to a tax levy associated with one of the town’s funds.

Council members voted in favor Wednesday night of increasing the property tax levy tied to the town’s cumulative capital development fund from $0.0167 cents per $100 of assessed valuation to the maximum allowed under Indiana Code of $0.0333 per $100 of assessed valuation.

The town established its cumulative capital development fund in 2017. The fund can be used on a variety of town projects and expenses.
