Waynie Faye (Bennett) Malone Whitaker, 83, of Greenfield, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield, IN. Waynie was born August 13, 1935 to Carr Wayne Bennett and Sara Louvina (Hall) Bennett in Hickman, TN.

Waynie was a hard worker and was employed for many years for RCA until the time of her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, as well as the Sugarcreek Baptist Church in Greenfield, IN. Most of all she loved her large and extended family and whenever they were together there was always music, dancing, and so much joy. She was cherished by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, Granny, sister, and dear friend who will be missed by the ones she loved very much.

Waynie is survived by her daughter, Billie (Mike) Gunn; daughter, Cynthia (Mark Embry) Malone; four grandchildren, Zachary (Michelle) Gunn, Jacob (Kassie) Gunn, Holly (Aaron) Baxter, and Courtney (Jacob) Strange; nine great-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Virlah Montgomery, and Freda Lafever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Frank Malone, as well as Jack Whitaker; three brothers, Corbin Bennett, Clarence Bennett, and Wirt Bennett; four sisters, Macie Watts, Lena Hunt, Athaleen Watson, and Sue Pritchett; as well as her longtime companion, John C. Williams.

Friends may gather in Waynie’s memory on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Hendryx Mortuary – New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main St., New Palestine, IN 46163 with funeral services to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial to follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine, IN.
