Restaurant inspections for Jan. 25 – 26

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Jan. 25

Huck’s Convenience Food & Fuel

Location: 322 E. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — expired milk, lunchmeat, lunch makers, chicken salad; cheese sauce not hot enough, corrected/discarded; NC — bags for bagged ice must be stored in a protected manner to prevent contamination, to be corrected by Jan. 30.

Los Maguelles Mexican Restaurant

Location: 222 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — mark working containers (spray bottles) with common name of chemical, corrected; NC/R — repair lights in kitchen storage area that are not working properly, repair flooring in kitchen so smooth, cleanable and non-absorbent, repair coving, clean floors in corners and under equipment where debris has built up, clean walls to remove splatters, to be corrected by April 1; NC — dish machine not up to temperature, to be corrected by April 1.

Subway

Location: 5945 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — sanitizing solution too strong, dirty knife on magnet strip, corrected; NC — drain pipe at hand sink leaking, to be corrected by April 1.
