Food Inspections

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Nov. 9

Huck’s Convenience Food & Fuel

Location: 322 E. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — need to have someone that is a certified food handler, to be corrected by Feb. 1; C/R — if food items up by cash register that are being held warm are not at proper temperature, need to discard at or before time indicated on label, corrected/discarded; NC/R — clean small fryer to remove grease build-up and clean floor under reach-in freezer by fryer and side of freezer, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

BBQ’N Fools Catering LLC

Location: 20 W. South St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt

Location: 1917 Melody Lane, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R3 — three-compartment sink and spray bottle have 0 ppm of chlorine, must be tested each time prepared, to be corrected by Nov. 9; C — sanitizing spray bottles must be labeled, to be corrected by Nov. 9; NC/R3 — self-service cups should be presented for customers in a protected manner, to be corrected by Dec. 1.
