The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Bamboo Garden Buffet

Location: 2160 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — must clean equipment and door handles when contaminated with raw meat, must sanitize all food contact surfaces after washing and rinsing such as cutting boards and knives, corrected; NC/R — food thermometer needs to be available, knives cannot be stored between equipment, corrected; NC — need to have thermometers in all refrigeration units, need soap at hand washing sink by back door in kitchen, need to clean equipment such as trash cans, shelving and drawers, need to clean floors in walk-in cooler, under prep table, three compartment sink and work station, to be corrected by Aug. 1; C — sanitizer at three-compartment sink is too high, food in buckets cannot be set in mop sink, corrected; NC — no paper towels in employee restroom, corrected.
