GREENFIELD — Hancock Regional Hospital will offer low-cost blood work and diagnostic imaging screenings or scans to county residents as part of the 33rd annual Heartbeats Health Festival, 7 a.m. to noon April 23 at the hospital.
Diagnostic imaging screenings or scans will be performed by appointment. Call 317-467-4600 to schedule. Those getting diagnostic screenings done must check in at the main hospital entrance. Diagnostic imaging screenings or scans available are:
•Arterial evaluations (carotid, abdominal aorta or lower extremity); age restrictions apply: $35 each or $100 for all.
•Cardiac score: $49; recommended for those with a history of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol.
•Lung screen: $99; recommended for long-time smokers older than 50.
•Dexa scan (bone density): $35; recommended for women 50 or older or post-menopausal.
•Skin cancer screenings: free; offered by appointment only.
•EKGs: $10; call 317-468-4600 for an appointment and criteria.
Those interested in lab screenings must register at the Hancock Surgery Center entrance. Screenings will be performed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the screenings available will be:
•Chemistry profile: $30; includes cholesterol readings, blood sugar, triglycerides and 20 other screening tests (must fast for 12 hours before screening)
•Hemoglobin A1C: $15; recommended for people with Type 2 diabetes. Test indicates how blood sugar levels have been controlled over time.
•hsC-reactive protein: $20; tests for a cardiovascular risk marker
•Homocystine: $25; cardiovascular risk marker
•Prostate specific antigen: $25
•Thyroid stimulating hormone: $15
•Vitamin D: $50
