FOOD SAFETY INSPECTIONS
The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.
Nov. 24
Arby’s
Location: 1705 N. State St., Greenfield
Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: NC – lettuce cannot touch rack holding equipment and utensils, corrected/discarded; NC – paper towels need to be provided in restroom, corrected.
Firehouse Subs
Location: 22. E. McClarnon Drive, Greenfield
Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: C – employee seen touching face before proceeding to work on food prep without washing hands and using gloves, corrected; NC – calibrate thermometers as needed for accuracy, seven days; NC – sanitizer test strips need to be available and used, seven days.
Hawk’s Tail
Location: 1453 Morristown Pike, Greenfield
Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: C/R – need to have current food handlers certificate, 90 days.
Little Caesar’s Pizza
Location: 1633 N. State St., Greenfield
Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: NC – all soiled linens should be kept in laundry bag to prevent contamination of clean equipment, corrected; paper towels need to be provided at all hand-washing sinks, seven days.

Location: 1490 N. State St., Greenfield
Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: NC – hand sinks in women’s restroom and hand sink in prep area need to be 100 degrees, 120 days; C – remove equipment and coffee residue from hand-washing facility, corrected; C – health policy must be posted and reviewed, corrected.

Type of inspection: Routine
Violations: NC/R — obtain food thermometer that can measure thin meats such as hamburger, 90 days; C — must date-mark lunch meat and hold at 41 degrees or less for a maximum of seven days, corrected.

Violations: NC – thermometers not working in deli case where salads are held, hot food holder needs thermometer with lower range, 150 days.
