Harold E. Seibel, 82, of Greenfield, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Decatur County, the son of George and Mary (Hampton) Seibel.

He was a graduate of Jackson Township School. He served in the U. S. Army as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He married Dorothy Reed on Nov. 8, 1947, in Greensburg, and she survives. Together they lived most of their lives in Greensburg before moving to and living in Greenfield the past 5 years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Kiwanis. He worked at the Greensburg Daily News for 25 years. He also worked for Jackson Printing, and Greensburg Water Co. Harold was an avid sports fan with baseball and basketball and his family being his greatest loves. He and his wife, Dorothy, were avid RV'ers and made many trips to the West Coast.

Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Vickie (David) Clark of New Castle, and Anita (Bob) Workman of Greenfield; one son, Ron (Leslie) Seibel of Austin, Texas; one brother, Ralph Seibel of Greensburg; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard & Paul Seibel; two half-brothers, Frank & John Beagle; and one grandson, Derek Clark.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, 110 E. North St., Greensburg. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery.
