GREENFIELD

Linda V. Willard, age 76, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Greenfield on June 22, 1945, to Jess K. Willard and Virginia R. (Spegal) Willard. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1963.

Linda dedicated her career to serving the community and its citizens, first as a deputy clerk and then as the Chief Deputy Clerk-Treasurer for 20 years. She was the administrative assistant to Mayor Patricia Elmore and later retired as a bookkeeper for Hancock County Community Corrections in 2013. Linda was a member at Trinity Park United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, attending sporting events, bowling, lunch dates with her friends, and she enjoyed reading. She had also remained active with her high school graduating class of 1963.

Linda is survived by her brothers Dwight Willard of Greenfield, Dave (Terri) Willard of Greenfield and sister-in-law, Beth Willard of Greenfield. Two nieces who she helped raise as daughters: Tina (Bob) Youkilis of Carmel and Lynda (Tim) Dougherty of Greenfield. Six more nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; Kris (Ken) Ely, Bruce (Jennie) Willard, Ellen (Butch) Miller, Aaron Willard, Keith (Lindsay) Willard and Emily (David) Sims. A great-niece and 5 great-nephews that were like grandchildren to her: Amberlee Dougherty, Drew (Kendall) Dougherty, A.J. Dougherty, Ben Youkilis, Adam Youkilis and Joseph Youkilis. 13 more great-nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Virginia, and brother Don Willard.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Larry VanCamp officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
