The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Sept. 16

Eden Elementary School

Location: 8185 N. State Road 9, Greenfield

Maxwell Intermediate School

Location: 102 N. Main St., Maxwell

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – “Snow” developing in walk-in freezer, to be corrected by Dec. 1.

Sept. 20

Dave’s Meat Market

Location: 333 S. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – continue to clean floors under equipment and in cracks and crevices, to be corrected by Oct. 10; NC/R – clean reach-in cooler tracks, drying racks, trash cans and can-opening table, to be corrected by Sept. 27; NC/R – walk-in cooler needs repair, to be corrected by Oct. 24; NC – repair back door so no gap, to be corrected by Oct. 10; C – date-mark sandwich spread to be corrected by Sept. 21; NC/R – continue to remove items not necessary to the operation of the establishment.
