Restaurant Inspections – October 28

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

McDonald’s

Location: 2290 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations: C — an employee shall chew gum, eat and drink food or use any form of tobacco only in designated areas (server was chewing gum), corrected; NC — food shall be protected from contamination by being stored at least 6 inches above the floor and in packages, covered containers or wrapping, stacked in dry storage and freezer (hamburger uncovered), corrected; NC — hand drying provisions (need individual disposable towels), corrected; NC — in-service utensil needs between-use storage, need ice scoop for large ice machine, ice scoop at drive-up window needs to be stored in clean, protected location, corrected; NC —wiping cloths used for wiping food spills shall be stored in a chemical sanitizer, corrected.

Doe Creek Middle School

Location: 5613 W. County Road 200S, New Palestine

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations: C—ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food disposition exceeds time and temperature, expired diced chicken and refried beans need to be disposed of, corrected.

Sugar Creek Elementary School
