Kyle Gibson continued his stretch of pitching at least six innings in each of his starts Monday, but the Greenfield native received a no-decision in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 4-3 loss to the New York Mets at Busch Stadium.

Monday’s outing against the Mets was his seventh start of the year. He has thrown six innings in five starts and seven innings in two starts.

Against the Mets, he threw six innings, gave up seven hits, three runs — two earned —struck out four and walked two.

The 36-year old, right-hander is 2-2 on the season with a 3.68 earned run average.

He has given up two earned runs or less in each of his last four starts.

The Cardinals dropped to 15-20. They are in last place in the National League Central Division and are 5.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs, who are tied for first place.

Gibson trailed 3-0 in the middle of the sixth when the Cardinals tied the game with three runs in their half of the inning.

The Mets scored a run off St. Louis reliever Andrew Kittredge — a Brandon Nimmo solo home run— in the seventh for the difference in the game. It was the first homer allowed by Kittredge this year.

DJ Stewart had a two-out RBI double in the first off Gibson, and the Mets added two more runs in the fifth for a 3-0 lead.

“My location wasn’t good,” Gibson said. “My changeup wasn’t good. We haven’t played like we want to play and we’re not where we want to be.”

Gibson’s next scheduled start is Saturday, May 11 at Milwaukee. Freddy Peralta is slated to start for the Brewers.
