Carnival to benefit Zoey’s Place Child Advocacy Center

GREENFIELD – A carnival is coming to the Hancock County Fairgrounds on May 18, benefiting Zoeys Place Child Advocacy Center.

Zoey’s Place Carnival will be from noon to 3 p.m. at the Hancock County Fairgrounds and will include bounce houses, games, prizes, live music and more. Cost is $15 per kids game wristband, which includes carnival games and all bounce houses; $20 for an elite game pass which adds face painting and animal activities to the carnival games and bounce houses. CASA to benefit from dining fundraiser

GREENFIELD – A dining fundraiser coming up will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Donate While You Dine is set for 5-8 pm. May 14 at Culver’s, 1846 N. State St., Greenfield. A percentage of every order during these hours will go towards Hancock County Friends of CASA to help improve the lives of abused and neglected children. Drive-through customers are included; no coupon is needed.

Free financial courses available

GREENFIELD – Registration is open now for the latest series of Faith & Finances.

The free classes offer people a chance to have dinner and childcare available while learning about finances. The courses are offered through Love INC of Greater Hancock County and are 6-7:30 p.m. May 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13 and 20. Fundraiser to benefit veterans

GREENFIELD – A dining event fundraiser is coming up, raising money for American Legion Post 119 to aid veterans in need.

Dining with the Legion Day is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8 at Lincoln Square Pancake House, 118 W. Main St., Greenfield.

In addition to a percentage of proceeds at the restaurant going to veterans that day, there will be a donation box for patrons to donate directly. American Legion members will also be there to greet the public.

MV seeks residence documents from students

FORTVILLE – Mt. Vernon Community Schools are requesting parents and guardians of kindergarteners through 11th grade to upload a new proof of residency in their Skyward Family Access portal this month.

The state requires all school districts to have a valid proof of residency on file and the MV district is preparing for an expected data audit. Proof of residency documents require one of the following: residential building permit; rental agreement or mortgage statement; property tax statement or title document; voter registration card; or two types of utility bills dated within 60 days of submission.

Annual spring plant sale coming up

GREENFIELD – A spring plant sale is coming to the Hancock County Fairgrounds.

The Hancock County Master Gardeners and Hancock County Herb Society annual sale is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 3 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at the 4-H Show Arena, 620 N. Apple St., Greenfield.

McCordsville to host markets, car shows

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of Mccordsville will host community events on Sundays this summer and fall.
