Royals get combo no-hitter in 11th straight win

Kenna Stewart and Tatem Adams combined on a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 14, and Eastern Hancock’s softball team won its 11th straight softball game with a 12-0 victory over Heritage Christian (7-5) Monday.

Since losing their season opener, 14-7, to Class 4A Brownsburg, the Royals have outscored opponents 136-10 over the last 11 games.

The Royals had 10 hits and took advantage of nine Heritage Christian errors on Monday.

Emily Hodges, Cameron Spegal, Addisyn Trackwell and Brooklyn Willis all had two hits. Hodges had three RBI. Spegal drove in two. Trackwell had a triple and two RBI. Willis had two doubles and an RBI.

Camryn Blue had a double. Sammie Bolding scored three runs and had an RBI.

Stewart pitched three innings and struck out eight. Adams struck out six in two innings. Both had two walks.

Eastern Hancock (11-1) travels to Cambridge City Lincoln (5-6) Tuesday.
