Free financial courses available

GREENFIELD – Registration is open now for the latest series of Faith & Finances.

The free classes offer people a chance to have dinner and childcare available while learning about finances. The courses are offered through Love INC of Greater Hancock County and are 6-7:30 p.m. May 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13 and 20. May events open to families at local libraries

GREENFIELD – Several events for children and teens are coming up at local libraries in May.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo May 2 at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield. Other Greenfield programs include a T-Rex Tea Party May 20 and a Lego Free Build event May 30. The Greenfield library offers teens a robotics event May 16 and a program to create miniature monsters of clay May 6. Learn more and register at hcplibrary.org.

In New Palestine, the Sugar Creek branch of the HCPL offers a Rhythm and Hues music/art course May 16, a Pals and PJs program May 22 and a Nerf War for all ages May 30. Photography exhibit coming to gallery

GREENFIELD — “Photography From You” will be featured at the Twenty North Gallery in May.

Cash awards will be given to winners of the photography contest exhibit, and photos will be on display throughout the month.

A reception is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 10. The gallery is located at 20 N. State St., Greenfield. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. For more, visit hancockcountyarts.org.

Student art show returns

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Student Art Show returns this May.

The annual event features work from students in all four public school corporations, along with a senior award recognition. The event is open to anyone from 3:30-8 p.m. May 2 and May 3. The show rotates between high schools every spring, and the show is hosted this year at Greenfield-Central High School, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield in Dellen Automotive Gymnasium.

McCordsville seeks vendors for market

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of McCordsville is looking for small businesses, crafters, farmers, artisans, food vendors and acoustical musicians to participate in Market in McCordsville.

The events will be one Sunday afternoon from May through October at Town Hall Park, 6280 W. 800N., McCordsville. Vendors do not have to commit to participate at every event.

MV preschool enrollment open

FORTVILLE – Registration is open for the Mini-Marauder Preschool for the 2024-25 school year

The program is for children ages 3, 4 and 5 in pre-kindergarten. The academic day runs 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.; a limited number of aftercare spots are available 2-4:30 p.m.
