Civic service: Students learn lessons at Statehouse with Rep. Bob Cherry

Addison and Reagan Bowers, students at New Palestine High School, were recently pages with Rep. Bob Cherry.

INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Bob Cherry, R-Greenfield, recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.

As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Cherry on the House floor to learn about the legislative process.

“Meeting with local students at the Statehouse is always a highlight during the legislative session,” Cherry said in a press release. “I see a lot of potential in the next generation, and I hope their experience was memorable.”

Pages included Addison and Reagan Bowers, Indianapolis students who attend New Palestine High School; Josie Hunt of Wilkinson, Eastern Hancock Middle school; Matthew Hunt, Wilkinson, Eastern Hancock Middle School; Sy Hunt, Wilkinson, Eastern Hancock High School; Griffin Knight, Greenfield, Eastern Hancock High School; Luke Manship, Greenfield, Eastern Hancock Middle School; and Gavin Shultz, Greenfield, Eastern Hancock Middle School.
