HANCOCK COUNTY – Grab an Easter basket and hop on over to one of Hancock County’s community egg hunts.

The spring season is celebrated through community gatherings and plenty of candy. While all events are free, some require pre-registration. Here’s a look at where to go for spring flings:

March 16

Inclusive Egg Hunt, 10:30 a.m. March 16, Greenfield Central Junior High School, 1440 N. Franklin St., Greenfield. Families United for Support and Encouragement will host the annual event for people of all ages and all abilities at its new location, inside the gym of the junior high school. Registration is encouraged at fuseinc.org or facebook.com/fuseinc.

March 23

Fourth Annual Helicopter Egg Drop, 10 a.m. to noon March 23, Fortville Church of the Nazarene, 701 S. Maple St., Greenfield. Event includes crafts for all ages, face painting, a free hot dog lunch, treats for sale and more. Hunt for children 2 and younger begins at 10:30 a.m.; helicopter egg drop is at 11 a.m. Register at fortvillenazarene.org/events.

March 29-30

Journey to Easter, a live one-hour walk-through depiction of the life and love of Jesus Christ, March 29-30, Bethel Baptist Church, 1610 S. State St., Greenfield. View scenes of miracles, the cross, the tomb and the resurrection.

March 30

Easter Bunny Visit, 9 a.m. to noon March 30, McCordsville Town Hall, 6280 W. 800N., McCordsville. Bring your own camera for a free photo-op with the bunny and cookies while supplies last.

Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m. March 30, Riley Park, Greenfield. Bradley United Methodist Church hosts this event for the community annually

Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m. March 30, Mt. Comfort Church, 3179 N. 600W., Greenfield. Age-group hunts in a free community event that includes crafts, door prizes and the Easter story. Visit mtcomfortchurch.com for more.

Eggs-Travaganza, 10 a.m. March 30, Gateway Community Church, 125 E. Staat St., Fortville. Annual Easter egg hunt for kids and youth, along with carnival games and art stations.

Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m. Easter Bunny arrives on a fire truck at Sugar Creek Park, 4197 S. 700W.; event hosted by the town of New Palestine. Hunt begins at 11:30 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m. March 30, Shirley Masonic Lodge, 110 Varner St., Shirley. Refreshments and prizes will be available in the annual event to scour the countryside looking for the rabbit’s treasure.

Easter Eggstravaganza, 11 a.m. March 30, Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church, 994 N. 600E., Greenfield. Registration and activities start at 10 a.m. for the family event that features balloon animals, pictures with the Easter Bunny, popcorn and more.

Easter Celebration, 1-4 p.m. March 30, Calvary Bible Methodist Church, 4465 N. Fortville Pike, Greenfield. Hunt eggs, eat cookies and learn what Easter is all about.
