Leadership group hosting luncheon

GREENFIELD – Leadership Hancock County will host an alumni luncheon next month, and reservations are available now.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 3 at the Thrive Center of the Community Foundation of Hancock County, 971 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield.

McCordsville announces 2024 events

MCCORDSVILLE – The Town of McCordsville has announced its 2024 season of community events.

Visit with the Easter Bunny March 30. Market in McCordsville takes place from May through October, as does Cars & Coffee.

Party in the Park is scheduled for June 29. Path to Fitness 5K is Aug. 10. A Trunk or Treat will be Oct. 27. Visit with Santa is Dec. 6.

Drama club to host dining fundraiser

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Central Drama will benefit from a Dine to Donate event this week.

Leo’s Market and Eatery will host a dining fundraiser from 3-7 p.m. Thursday. Twenty percent of all eatery proceeds will benefit the school’s theater program. The business is located at 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield.

Shelter in place discussion coming up

GREENFIELD – Learn how to shelter in place during a tornado or other emergency in an upcoming event.

Hancock County Homeland Security will have a discussion at 7 p.m. March 7 on the supplies in an at-home kit for sheltering in place, and what to do if an emergency happens while you are at work, school or in your car.

The event will be at the Hancock County Emergency Operations Center, 620 S. Franklin St., Greenfield. It’s hosted by Hancock County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), a network of individuals, businesses and civic organizations interested in disaster recovery planning for the local community. Pond clinic coming up

GREENFIELD – Learn about local ponds and lakes in an upcoming program hosted by Purdue Extension Hancock County.

The Hancock County Pond Clinic will be from 6-9 p.m. March 21 at 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield. Jonathan Ferris, a Purdue Extension educator, will give tips on pond weeds, water quality, fish species, stocking rates, water maintenance and more. Job fair coming to G-CHS

GREENFIELD – Greenfield-Central’s Jobs for America’s Graduates program is hosting a community job fair April 2.

The event is open to high school juniors and seniors from 11 a.m to 3:30 p.m. and open to the public from 3:30-6 p.m. The fair will be at the high school’s Dellen Automotive Gymnasium.
