State lawmakers to speak at breakfast event

GREENFIELD – Hear from state lawmakers on issues impacting local businesses and communities in an upcoming event.

Eggs and Issues Legislative Breakfast is hosted by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce. The event is 7:30-9 a.m. March 5 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Speakers will be state representatives Bob Cherry and Chris Jeter and state senator Mike Crider.

High school volunteers looking to serve

FORTVILLE – Organizations that need help are encouraged to reach out to the Mt. Vernon High School Community Service Club.

Retirement workshop March 4

GREENFIELD – Learn about making your dreams for retirement a reality in a workshop coming up at the Hancock County Public Library.

Retirement Basics is at 6:30 p.m. March 4 at the Greenfield library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Ryan Lawson, senior financial advisor at First Merchants Bank, will discuss the basics of retirement planning. Learn more or register at hcplibrary.org.

Shares, Inc. to host community event

GREENFIELD – The community is invited to an event coming up to highlight opportunities at Shares, Inc.

March is Disability Awareness Month and a Shares Showcase is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon March 15 at 645 S. State St., Greenfield. Shares Inc. is a not-for-profit which works with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The event will feature an awards ceremony and highlight some of the achievements of participants and what people with disabilities would like to see in their future.

Easter events on the horizon

MCCORDSVILLE – Visit with the Easter Bunny in an upcoming free event at McCordsville Town Hall.

A free photo op and cookies will be available from 9 a.m. to noon March 30 at 6280 W. 800N., McCordsville.

Leadership group hosting luncheon

GREENFIELD – Leadership Hancock County will host an alumni luncheon next month, and reservations are available now.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 3 at the Thrive Center of the Community Foundation of Hancock County, 971 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield.
