Budgeting, debt management workshop Jan. 31
GREENFIELD – Financial wellness and tips on frugal living, eliminating debt and more will be in an upcoming workshop at the Hancock County Public Library.
“Budgeting and Debt Management” will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the central library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Christa Cummings, client relationship representative at first Merchants Bank, will discuss several topics. A graduate of New Palestine High School, Butler University and Indiana University at Indianapolis, Cummings is a Greenfield resident with more than 20 years of banking experience. Pet portrait class Jan. 19
GREENFIELD – Pet-loving adults can sign up for “DIY Watercolor Pet Portraits” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 19. Beginners will be guided through painting simple watercolor flowers and creating a personalized silhouette of their own pet on wood grain paper. No experience required; all materials provided.
Classes through the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio are in the lower level of the Patricia Elmore Center in Riley Park, 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield. Register at parks.greenfieldin.org.
Preschool open houses coming up
GREENFIELD – Local preschools are hosting open houses soon.
Cougar Cubs Preschool will host two open houses Cougar Cubs East will be 5-6 p.m. Jan. 22 at 1331 N. Blue Road, Greenfield. Cougar Cubs West will be 5-6 p.m. Jan. 24 at 700 N. Broadway St., Greenfield. The Greenfield-Central preschool offers developmentally-appropriate curriculum focused on early learning standards in a play-based, inclusive environment. Greenfield Parks and Recreation Preschool has also announced plans for an open house for the 2024-25 preschool year. The event will be from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 21 at the lower level of the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 Apple St., Greenfield. Enrollment opens Feb. 22 at parks.greenfieldin.org.
