MVHS band to give community performance

FORTVILLE – The Band of Marauders will host a Community Night at 7 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 20.

The event, in the Mt. Vernon High School stadium, will feature a performance of their 2023 show “MozARTageous.” There will also be a bake sale and hot cocoa. The school is located at 8112 N. 200W., Fortville.

Dining fundraisers coming up

GREENFIELD – Two upcoming dining events will raise funds for local organizations.

Pizza for a Cause is coming up from 4-9 p.m. Oct. 18 at Hometown Classic Pizza, 1002 E. Main St., Greenfield. A portion of sales goes to Special Olympics of Hancock County, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, offering them opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy.

Culver’s will host a Dine to Donate event from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 24. A portion of sales supports Partners for Animal Welfare Society. To learn more about P.A.W.S. or to donate online, visit pawshancock.org. The restaurant is located at 1846 N. State St., Greenfield.

Bourbon event to benefit Meals on Wheels

GREENFIELD – A benefit event featuring bourbon, spirits and wine tasting will benefit Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.

Boots & Bourbon is scheduled for Oct. 21 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. A VIP pass for $75 offers special tastings with early entry. General admission at $45 includes live music, hors d’oeuvres, cigar pairings, auctions and more. There is also a safe driver pass at $15.

Air show Oct. 28-29

GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for an air show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels coming to Hancock County.

Crossroads Air Show will be Oct. 28-29 at the Indianapolis Regional Airport in Greenfield. Parking and admissions tickets can be purchased online and funds from the Crossroad Air Show will support central Indiana scouting groups and Riley Children’s Foundation.

Single-day admission tickets range from $10 for general admission to $1,600 for a table of eight at the Flight Line Club. Photo tours can be purchased as an add-on for $25. General admission is free for youth cub scouts and children ages 5 and under.

Single-day parking passes are required to attend the air show and are not included with an admission ticket. A standard parking pass is $150, motorcycle parking is $50 and bus parking is $500.
