The Gray Havens to play concert

NEW PALESTINE — The Gray Havens bring their Zion Caravan fall tour to New Palestine at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at New Palestine Bible Church, 5954 W. County Road 300S.

The narrative-pop band from Nashville, Tennessee, is led by singer-songwriter Dave Radford. Among its songs are “Gray Flowers,” “Train Station” and “Far Kingdom.”

McCORDSVILLE — The next community breakfast is planned for 7:30-10 a.m. Oct. 21 at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway.

Missions fair, celebration coming

GREENFIELD — World Renewal will have its annual celebration, which this year starts with a missions fair, from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brandywine Community Church in Greenfield.

From 5:30-6:30 p.m., everyone can meet missionaries and mingle among 16 booths highlighting ministry in different countries. Children visiting the missions fair can receive a “passport” to be stamped as they visit different booths.

Rice and beans will be served at the missions fair.

After the missions fair, the celebration shifts to a worship service with an international flavor. Children from several congregations will help share worship songs in multiple languages.

The 2019 celebration speaker, who ministers in a sensitive area of the world, will be back as guest speaker.

Mt. Lebanon plans barbecue meal

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon Community Church will serve a pulled pork barbecue meal from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 14) at the church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

The mean features a pulled pork BBQ sandwich, green beans, scalloped potatoes, slaw, assorted desserts and drinks.

Donations will be accepted and used for mission projects.

Curry’s Chapel to show film

GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel Church will show the movie “Left Behind II: Tribulation Force” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 14) at the church, 3488 N. County Road 375E.

Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. The film is part of the church’s monthly “Movies with a Point” series.

Oktoberfest party raises funds for youth trip

NEW PALESTINE — Cross of Grace Lutheran Church plans a German-themed Oktoberfest party from 5-11 p.m. Oct. 29, timed to connect with celebration of the Reformation. It will feature some fundraisers for a 2024 youth trip to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s National Youth Gathering. Raffles and a cornhole tournament are planned.

Go to Sunday School, receive a toy

GREENFIELD — Apostolic Pentecostal Church will have a Giving Sunday, featuring a toy giveaway that starts at 10 a.m. Sunday. A free toy will be given to every child who attends Sunday School that morning, while supplies last. The church is located at 1202 E. Fifth St.

Chicken noodle dinner is Oct. 21

GREENFIELD — The Ladies’ Club of Curry’s Chapel Church will have a chicken and noodles dinner from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 21. The church is located at 3488 N. County Road 375E.

Chicken sandwich drive-thru open

MT. COMFORT — Chick-fil-A lunches are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays (or while supplies last) at Mt. Comfort Church’s Mt. Comfort Campus, 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.

Each lunch costs $10 and includes a Chick-fil-A sandwich, bag of chips, cookie and a drink.

All proceeds go to help support Our Lady of the Apostles Family Retreat Center (2884 N. County Road 700W, Greenfield) and Mt. Comfort Church.
