Riley Festival entertainment coming to three stages

GREENFIELD – Free live music will be available on three stages in downtown Greenfield this weekend during the Riley festival.

The H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, the entertainment tent in the Living Alley at North and Main streets; and the acoustic stage at South and State streets will bring several local and regional artists to the community.

Headliners at the entertainment tent include The Woomblies Rock Orchestra from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 5; Jump, a Van Halen tribute band, from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 6; and Kashmir, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 7.

Fine arts exhibits at gallery during Riley Festival

GREENFIELD – Greenfield’s downtown art gallery will display Riley Festival’s fine arts contest entries.

The Twenty North Gallery will display the fine arts contest, with drop-off from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 4. Entering the contest is free; the festival awards cash prizes and various honors to winners. Register at rileyfestival.com The gallery is located at 20 N. State St. Greenfield.

Latin jazz concert coming to HCPL

GREENFIELD – Latin Jazz musicians Pavel and Direct Contact will perform a free concert at Hancock County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

Pavel & Direct Contact is known for their energetic, fiery performances, much in the vein of the modern pyrotechnicians of today’s Latin Jazz world. Led by Internationally-known Dominican pianist and Chicago Music Awards Nominee Pavel Polanco-Safadit, Direct Contact brings an experience of Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Latin-infused American pop song.

American spirituals concert Oct. 15

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Community Choir will perform “A Celebration of American Spirituals” in a free concert this month.The event is at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., Greenfield. Learn more about the choir at greenfieldcommunitychoir.com.
