Free dental services Sept. 9

GREENFIELD – Free Dentistry Day is taking place at Creative Smiles in Greenfield, offering free dental services of cleaning, one extraction or one filling to people who may not otherwise receive basic or routine care.

The event is Sept. 9 at the Creative Smiles office, 168 E. New Road, Greenfield. No reservations are necessary, though people will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 8 a.m. Those who wish to learn more or donate toward the program may call 317-462-7700.

Shrine club to host picnic

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Shrine Club will host a pitch-in picnic at noon Sept. 9 at the home of Dan and Becky Riley.

Blood drives coming up

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several mobile blood drives are coming up soon in Hancock County.

Upcoming blood drives through Versiti Blood Center of Indiana include: Sept. 2 at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield (hosted by the Live Like B Foundation); Sept. 6 at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N. 200W., Fortville; and Sept. 12 at Hancock County Wellness Center, 8505 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville;

Libraries to host book clubs, events for adults

HANCOCK COUNTY – Local libraries will host several events for adults in September.

Vinyasa (“Flow”) Yoga is each Saturday morning at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library.

Ladies in Read Book Club will be Sept. 6 in HCPL’s Greenfield site with a discussion of “Mexican Gothic.”

Genealogy Open Research is Sept. 11 in Greenfield.

A Brown Bag Book Discussion is Sept. in Greenfield 12 with “The Nature of Fragile Things.”

Adult Crafternoon Club is Sept. 19 in Greenfield.

On Sept. 21 there will be two events at the Greenfield site: a human trafficking lecture and a Writers Helping Writers meeting.

The Greenfield library is located at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. The Sugar Creek branch is at 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine. Events are free; to learn more or register, visit hcplibrary.org.
