Libertarian party to host event Sunday

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Libertarian Party is hosting a candidate call-out and meet-and-greet with mayoral candidate Larry Silver.

The event will be from 2-3:30 p.m. June 4 in the community room of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. All are welcome and light refreshments will be available. The event is also designed to get candidates on the ballot prior to the July 3 deadline for the fall general election.

Great Hancock Hunt event coming up

GREENFIELD – The Great Hancock Hunt is coming up June 24, featuring a team event fundraiser for Hancock County Senior Services.

The digital scavenger hunt has teams using a smartphone to find answers and complete missions around Hancock County. Cost is $50 per team; meet at 9 a.m. June 24 at Hancock County Senior Services, 1840 Fields Blvd., Greenfield. For tickets, visit eventbrite.com and search “Great Hancock Hunt.”

Meals on Wheels to have dining fundraiser

GREENFIELD – Meals on Wheels will benefit from a dining fundraiser in Greenfield June 16.

A portion of proceeds from Leo’s Market and Eatery will go to the nonprofit organization. The event is 3-7 p.m. June 16 at 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield.

Youth triathlon/duathlon set for June 11

GREENFIELD – The second annual Youth Triathlon/Duathlon will be June 11 in Riley Park and registration is open now.

The event is open for children up to age 14 and a duathlon is available for those that don’t want to swim. For children 10 and under, the triathlon includes a 100-meter swim, 1.5 mile bike and half-mile run. For children 11-14 the event doubles each distance. Awards will be given to all participants, with medals for top performers in each age group.
